This heater, located about six inches from your head when sleeping, is actually quite good at heating the whole boat. Old paint encrusted headliners are still visible.

The upper berth in the master stateroom makes the perfect place to store tools and materials (until its time to refinish the upper berth in the master stateroom).

Popular in the mid-fifties, this green stain was one of the finishing options offered by Matthews Boat. We opted to strip every last remnant.

Once the '50s green/brown stain was removed, a few coats of varnish allowed the true Honduran color to take over.

A second toilet was located between the berths, but it needed replacement when we bought the boat. Instead, we elected to remove it.

Hatches provide air and light to forward compartments, but their chief purpose is a way out in case of fire. A sliding screen assembly has been removed for refinishing.

New headliners go into both berthing areas.

The finished stateroom retains the grass mat headboards. New custom spring mattresses make sleeping comfortable.

Located a couple of feet above the waterline, this port light allows the skipper to view the situation from his berth.

This little sink makes a quick wash up or teeth brushing convenient.
